Multiple cavity molds are designed in 3D

This product goes for a medical application. Material used for molding is PP - Co polymer.

 
Mold is 8 cavity 3 plate cold runner pin point gate mold with stripper ejection.

This Mold was developed completely in 3D, and then exported to 2D for detail manufacturing.

Mold Plates are C45 steel and Inserts H13 Hardened to 52 HRC.


The picture shown is the "see through" model of the mold which is sectioned at the middle of the component in one axsis.

Sprue and Sprue outer bush are hardened and fixed on the mold. Puller pin with replaceable hardened bush along with runner pusher pin's are provided on the mold.


Brass Baffle cooling is provided for the core inserts, and separate insert cooling is provided for the cavity inserts. All are interchangeable inserts 
. .

Multiple Cavity molds are modeled in 3D. Details of runner sprue,and shot size are evaluated in advance.

This facilitates accurate costing of products.

Since the mold is designed in 3D detailing of parts for manufacturing becomes error free.

The software is capable of checking interference, excess clearance and
could animate the function of the mold.


The mold was designed to run on a 80T L&T molding machine.

The achievable cycle time was 5 shots per minute.

The picture shown left is a 8 cavity submarine gate 2 plate mold. Hardened H13 inserts are used for the core and cavity. Cooling is given within the rectangle inserts for effective water circulation.
